We've just published translations to the web app section of the game. This does not yet include the live race viewer, although we hope to release the translated viewer before the app launch on the 22nd. You can configure your language on the Settings Page.

Please give your feedback on the translations here. They are by no means perfect as they have had only one or two reviews until now. We are relying on you guys to give us the final verdict on their accuracy. The more we can refine them before the app launch the better.

We opted in the end to use professionals rather than volunteers for the initial translation. There were over 13,000 words to translate and it was not a quick or easy job. Better to ask you guys for honest, critical feedback on the professional translations, because I know we will get that quickly! :)

Feedback instructions

1) Provide a precise description/screenshot/link, showing the location of an issue with a translation
2) Name the language of the translation
3) Specify exactly which word(s) or phrase(s) need revisions and provide the correct translation in full
4) Explain why this revision is required and what was wrong with the original

B
missing Polish Translation as always

More translations will be added, including Polish, in the weeks ahead. We are only a small team, and it's a lot of work to add something on this scale. We had to prioritise our largest audiences for the first batch of languages, but as I said more will be added soon. Polish is on the list for the next set of languages.

Next race page, European Portuguese, a couple of lines are too long and are cut off. (compatibility and bumpiness)

First, I want to congratulate and thank you guys for the continuous addition and improvement of features in the game. Really cool.

This said, whoever did the Spanish (both european and latin) translations either had no idea what they were doing or their brains are powered by the same engine as Google Translate.

I checked them out as soon as they were available and... well, just what I saw on the homepage screen made my eyes hurt a little. Wrong translations, semantic faults, unnecessary literality and the lack of pretty much every relevant ´ (accent mark) would confuse anyone who hasn't played the game before and doesn't speak English.

We're supposed to provide a description of every issue but there are so many that it'd take several posts for me to cover every single one I've seen.

So yeah, just wanted to let you know that at least two of the translations are far from optimal.

There are a lot of mistakes in the translation to brazilian portuguese, I would be here all day posting screenshots to fix them all, is there any other way I could help?

Italian, the word "race" is translated sometimes with "corsa" and sometimes with "gara"
They're both correct but better to uniform them all to "gara"

Italian,

Wrong: Le tue hanno hanno terminato in 3rd, 4th
Right: Le tue auto hanno terminato in 3rd, 4th
More Right: Le tue auto hanno terminato 3°, 4°

For the translations which have "more issues than you can count", we can easily arrange to give an individual access to all the files so they can make corrections. The feedback is not surprising to me, because I know a lot of the translators have no background in racing, and will have guessed at a lot of the words. The grammatical errors are a bit more disappointing, but we can work on that now with you guys.

Who volunteers to improve the Spanish translations? I can give you access to a pack of files which you can edit and improve. But I would rather work with only one individual at a time than publishing it to the public, otherwise it will get messy and impossible to manage all the edits.

Nicolas, we can talk about updating the pt-br translation. Please PM me your email address and I will be in touch.

@Frank - your suggestion is fixed now, thanks.

Does anyone else agree with Marco's suggestion?

Nicolas also has the pt-BR files now, and will be revising those translations.

@I B - That was always going to be the case in some translations. In the short-term I don't think we have any solution for that, except what you see, to concatenate (...) the words to stop the GUI from being stretched all over the place into unusual configurations. As long as it is clear what they are referring to, this should suffice for now.

ITALIAN: I agree with Marco; using "gara" in place of "corsa" sounds better, and occasionally also "macchina" instead of "auto" to translate "car" would be fine. Amongst other little things, i suggest to translate "training" as "allenamento" ("addestramento" is usually referred to military training); "hall of fame" could be easily left untranslated and most of all you should seriously translate "cap" or "salary cap" with "tetto salariale".

Guys, how do you add pictures in replies? It would be so much easier to explain...

To add images in replies, type [img].
Then, paste the link of the image.
After pasting the link, type [/img].
There should be no spaces in between. example:

@Calberto,
Upload the picture in some hosting image site (as, for example, Tynipic.com) to get the link to copy and paste between .
Carica le immagini su un sito come tynipic.com o altri simili, dopo il caricamento ti danno il link da utilizzare nei forum, attento alla pubblicità molto aggressiva.

Andrew, unfortuantely those images deny permission for anyone who is not a member of that forum I guess. They are not showing for me and I can't open the URLs directly either, it says Permission Denied. I'd recommend uploading the images to https://postimage.io/ then updating the links.

Thanks for the feedback. The rest I don't understand, but I understood right away that you'd changed "fuel economy" and "tyre ecnomy" to "consumption". Calling it "consumo" is misleading, because "high consumption" implies the opposite of economy.

The rest of the suggestions look reasonable, based on the very little (i.e. none :D) Italian I can understand.
