Hi, newcomer here, hoping to fix some translation issues, with the Spanish translation.
Some weeks ago on an update all game went uninteligible, lots of wrong or nonexistent words. Most of it has been fixed but still some left.
For starters, the most important, not being able to see the remaining laps till next stop, in race view on PC (on phone works well.), just as Guillermo Dias says.
Guillermo
I play on pc, With the new spanish translation, I cant see the remaining laps to pit because the sentence is too long and it doesn't let the number of laps appear.
The rest are minor translation issues, some more proper/better fitting words.
For "
Pole Positions" in spanish we just say "
Pole / Poles".
"
Tranquilidad" would be more like
tranquility,
quiet. Here makes more sense "
calma" which would be like
calm or
composure in english.
Just as in english everywhere is said "
pits / pit stops" it had make sense that if in spanish all references are to "
box / parada en boxes", the rider comment said used box instead of pit.
"Tipo de preparación", that in spanish is plain wrong for this situation (and for most possible anyway), that means "
kind of preparation". In spanish we had use "
nivel de preparación", which would be like "
preparation level/degree", or just "
preparación" alone.
"Presenciar" again wrong for this use. That means to witness being present, to go there.
For a TV show and similars like this "
ver",
view/behold, or "
mirar",
look/watch, are what makes sense to use
"Atrás" again, wrong term. Adverb of place used for time. "
Antes",
before, would be a good fix.
Or before the "1 día / 18 minutos" to use "
hace", "
hace 1 día/
hace 18 minutos", which would be the most correct form, if possible to put it before the time format without messing config for other languages.
Then last here, seen that on news, all circuit names show in english, no matter wich language is used.
"Usá" and
"grilla", neither of them exists in spanish.
"usa / usar / usad / usan" depending on what was meant to say. Judging by the english original "livery" i had go for "
Personaliza"
customize, or to try keep what was meant to say by the translator "
trabajo de pintura"
paint job.
"Realizar" had be better changed to "
aplicar"
apply, which is the used term in spanish when refering to paint/vinils, which is how you customize the car.
"Grilla", just common trend in some countries of making up words, picking english words and giving an spanish like sound.
"
Parrilla" is the proper, existing, and used in real racing, translation.
A food "grill" is also called "parrilla" in spanish, suppose thats why in SA they make this up, but wrong /non existant anyway, just explaining for the curious reader.
All info messages, overtakes / tyre changes / etc, show in english.
"Stint" could be changed, outside of press media not so used, more common for staff to use "
salida" or "período / intervalo / etapa", depending on the racing modality.
But among fans seems to be popular to use, so not a big deal since some/many may actually like it as is now.
Last one. In Cars / Repair, it says
"Condiciones del coche",
car terms, that in spanish makes no sense, we are not dealing with the car or doing any trades. The proper translation would be "
Estado del coche" / "
Estado del Motor", or at most "condición", not "condiciones". May seem the same / similar but has nothing to do one with the other.
