Mine only cost 800,000 and 844,000 per race. Although, if I get my new driver, it could cost me over a million per race, which is quite an extensive leap lol.

BREAKING NEWS
_______________

After believing that they were destined for greatness in the Elite series, it seems that Simparts Racing and Relentless Junior might be denied the opportunity to compete at the top after one of the teams quit, leaving only seven remaining teams, which as we all know, has negated any chance at promotion. The two teams are said to be fuming, after putting everything they had into getting the most out of this season, and if their next season is effected by this, then it could be another two seasons before we see these teams delving into the creme of the crop, which must be a bitter pill to swallow.

SIMPARTS RACING IN SHOCK
__________________

Like Relentless Junior, Simparts racing is today reeling from the news that they will no longer promote to the Elite series.  The team had spent a lot of time preparing for next season, to the detriment of results this season, to ensure that they could capture enough data to remain competitive with the high calibre of managers that the Speed Series has in the Elite league.

"This will set us back a couple of seasons and we already spent two seasons preparing for the Pro level win, so it really is a bitter pill to swallow" said Gervass Vermeiren, the Technical Director at Simparts.  However with Rusteze Junior and Waycott's F1 Rookies looking to join the PRO league next year there will still be plenty for both Relentless Junior and Simparts Racing to fight for, but will they have the fight for them?

SHOCK ANNOUNCEMENT
______________________

Rumours were flying around the paddock over the last couple of weeks as to whether a new driver would be joining Relentless Racing for the new season. Those rumours were confirmed today when Jamie Franklin announced signing a new, young driver to the team...

Sabine Oosterhout, the 20 year old, female driver from the Netherlands shall be partnering Ryota Onishi in Abu Dhabi, after replacing Itzel Santiago earlier today.

"It's quite disappointing to lose my seat after 135 races with the team, and sharing so much success with them. Unfortunately, I was never able to achieve my dream of becoming World Champion, but I have to thank the team for giving me the opportunity, especially at such a young age, and I wish the best of luck to Sabine, who I know is a fantastic driver,"

Santiago ended her statement by saying that she will be keeping in contact with the team, albeit in a more behind the scenes role.

Both Ryota Onishi and Sabine Oosterhout have big shoes to fill, having replaced two veterans in Jamie Davies and Itzel Santiago, and will have to prove their worth quickly, if they want to keep their seats for more than a single season. Onishi has already proven that he is capable of such success, and will be looking to capitalise on that experience going into his second season, where he will want to lead the team back into winning ways.

"I'm very much looking forward to the new season, and hopefully I can score my first win as well. But first, we have to look towards Abu Dhabi, where I had my first race last season. It'll be nice to go back there with a season under my belt, and with the final updates on the car, I know that we will be competitive,"

During the press conference, team principal - Jamie Franklin, was asked why he replaced Itzel, especially with one race still remaining on her contract, he had this to say:

"It was a difficult decision. Itzel has been fantastic ever since her first race, where she convincingly beat her team mate, and proved that she was a quick driver, and I'm not taking that away from her, but we made the decision to take a risk and try a new driver. We then decided that it would be best for Sabine to race in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season, because the pressure to perform is far less than at the start of a season, when you know that everything you do can count towards what happens at the end. Plus, if there are any minor problems, then that gives us the chance to iron these out over the winter period, in order to have the strongest start to the new season possible,"

At 18 and 20, Onishi and Oosterhout are the youngest pairing on the grid going into Abu Dhabi, and of course, next season, but will Sabine Oosterhout be able to deliver straight away, as we saw with Davies and Onishi in Abu Dhabi? Or will she take time to get into her groove, like we've seen with Tremblay and Roux? Only time will tell, but here's one reporter that's definitely looking forward to Abu Dhabi!

TRT CONTROVERSY
"Unfortently we may be cancelling our drivers contracts and possibly reverting to previous drivers, at the moment we are a small team and we're not making money"
Lachlan stated after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. "I really expected better of them, hopefully they will perform better this season on next season."
The team is currently stuck at 2,000,000 rumours are sugesting, this is a huge blow especially when the team has sold everthing for these drivers.

TRT OUT OF TITLE COMPETITION
"Unfortently to try and get some money we need to get money for next season, this season we'll be running a more VIRGIN/HRT car unlike our Ferrari like car last season. This year we'll be running cheaper and get our merchandise stores up and running, i'm very sorry to all our fans and we'll try for a tc and dc next season" was all Lachlan had to say, so are TRT waiting for 2 seasons? will they get relegated?

THE CHAMPIONSHIP COMES TO A CLOSE
__________________________________

The season ended last night in Abu Dhabi with a spectacular grand prix, to bookmark the end of a classic season in Formula One.

The race began with tension building in the air, as Nathan Tremblay headed up the grid in pole position, whilst his team mate, Janis was way back in ninth place, after a below par performance in qualifying. This set the scene for a final chapter in the Driver's Championship. After Janis' win, many saw him as the new WDC, having created a twenty point lead on his team mate, but none had expected this, when they came back to the desert. Tremblay would have to win the race with Janis coming 8th or lower to win the Championship, whereas Janis only needed to make up two places in order to secure the title - the odds were definitely in his favour.

Tremblay got off to a good start, pulling a second away from the car behind, whilst Janis struggled to push his way out of ninth place. However, on lap 4, with the use of the DRS, Janis was able to pick up eighth place and close in on those ahead of him. Tremblay, at this point, was tussling with Dempsey, trying desperately to keep his lead. However, after the first round of pit stops, Tremblay fell to second place, and began losing ground to Dempsey, as Janis made his way to 6th. The Championship looked as though it was over once again.

During the final stint, Tremblay pushed hard for the lead, eating into the gap set by Dempsey tenth by tenth, whilst Janis was being chased hard by Thompson and Roux. It was hard to see that Janis was going to fall to 8th place, but if he was forced into a mistake, then the title would surely be over...

The win eventually came down to the wire, as Dempsey and Tremblay crossed the line together, Rusteze missing out on a record-breaking win by 0.061s. Janis came home to finish in 5th, just behind Onishi, but ahead of Thompson and Roux, and so Janis took his fourth title, in what was a breathtaking spectacle.

Further down the field, finishing in tenth place, was Relentless Racing's new driver - Sabine Oosterhout. After a bad qualifying, she was left stuck in the mid-pack, having to use a lot of her kers to get passed slower cars, whilst Onishi was fighting with the big guns. With a performance like that, the pressure will be on for her to perform next season, after replacing a well-liked and fan-favourite in Itzel Santiago.

In hindsight - I regret it, I needed a safe pair of hands going into this season, rather than someone I'm completely unsure of, who needs a lot of training.

No sign of Relentless. Only the name renamed. Probably should change this too. Into something like "The Jamie Franklin Experience".

MG Racing Technology adds Junior team to existing line-up

------------------

With a new season about to start in Speed Series, MG Racing Technology has announced that it will be fielding a Junior entry in the league from this season onwards.

At a busy press conference in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, team manager Maarten Gaasenbeek stated that the main goal of the MGRT-Junior team will be to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in the Junior-tier of the series within 3 years. "This first year will be all about building the team's infrastructure and create a solid base on which we can rely for future development."

MGRT's usual technical partners, Murk, Seashells and Bridgerock will supply the new entry with engines, tyres and fuels. Murk's chief of motorsport Norbert Rauch stated that: "The MGRT-Junior team will be a great addition to the series and will give young talented drivers the opportunity to be trained for future greatness."

MGRT-Junior's line for Season 10 of the Speed Series league will consist of the following drivers:
Car 91: Redzuan Chandran, 22 years old of Malaysia
Car 92: Garry Dubkova, 21 years of Russia

For both drivers, this year will their first full season of competition in Grand Prix Racing.

After the press conference, the MGJR-01 was unveiled to the press by the two new drivers. The car will be very recognizable due to it's eye-catching British Racing Green livery, which matches the livery of the existing MGRT outfit.

At the same press conference in Amsterdam, team manager Gaasenbeek also revealed that both Dagur Helgarson and Janne Ahonen will return in the upcoming season in Elite as drivers of car number 15 and 16 respectively.

All in all, it's going to be a busy, but exciting year for the MGRT franchise.

Lol, I had a few ideas, but I don't think any sound quite as good as Relentless Racing:

- Franklin GP
- UK-F1
- Franklin Racing
- JSF1

If nothing else, I'll make a story up that the guys at Relentless allowed me to keep the name, whilst announcing that there is no longer any tie between the two ;)

OOSTERHOUT OUSTED FROM RELENTLESS
_______________________________________

After just one race, the motorsport industry has been left in shock as Sabine Oosterhout was removed from the driver line-up ahead of the new season. Sabine is said to be disappointed with the decision, and stated that she had a lot more to give, and will continue to try and get into the pinnacle of the racing industry.

The replacement wasn't announced straight away, and there was speculation that Itzel Santiago was going to be re-instated within the team, considering she was the one that had been replaced. However, these rumours turned out to be false; although they weren't far from the truth.

In fact, the replacement for Sabine Oosterhout will be none other than the only driver to win the Championship for the UK team - Jamie Davies. Davies was dropped by the team the season before last, and had been replaced by current driver, Ryota Onishi. The Japanese driver had a great first season alongise the Mexican female driver - Itzel Santiago, and the fact that she didn't perform to standard was the reason that she was replaced by Sabine Oosterhout.

There was speculation at halfway through the season that Itzel may be replaced by Davies, when observers saw the British Champion visiting the factory on a regular basis. However, when Oosterhout replaced Santiago, it was assumed that this driver change would continue on into the new season.

"It's great to be back at Relentless Racing," The British driver said in his first interview since being re-hired by the team. "We've been in negotiation for sometime, and there were points where it didn't seem like it was going to be possible. But, we've come to an agreement which suits everyone and I'm extremely excited about getting back in the car, and hopefully challenging for wins and Championships once again,"

More to follow...
