@ Rene: When the thing is not going to run; I will leave our league today and quit iGPManager. I lost the fun and interest.

We can only deliver clear information when we have it. If people are wondering when their race will run, it will be postponed to the next available calendar slot as described in post #12.

Post #12 was 17 hours ago, that makes the next available calendar slot for our league (the one posted by Rene) in 1 hour.  Are you saying you will have our race from yesterday finished off and we'll have enough time to do a setup and race strategy in the next 30 minutes?  We race daily and with the lack of speed that appears to be shown these last few days it looks like this will be our 3rd day in a row that our race is screwed up.

I work in customer service/tech support.  The customers don't want to hear (or even care) about if you worked 48 hours straight and then took 4 hours off to nap when there is a problem.  Customers don't really care what happened to cause the problem or what will need to be done to fix the problem.  All customers care about is why isn't it fixed yet, why is it taking so long, etc?  They don't really want to hear the answers, they just want to see results.

That being said, the results we customers are seeing right now are almost non-existent and you will start to lose your customer base quickly if you don't produce some results fast.  This is not the only F1 management style game on the market and there are plenty of other ones that don't have these bugs daily that are affecting the races and pissing everyone off.

for me its quite sad .... being in the hof top 20 before my brake and now coming back and experiencing those issues ... is frankly speaking a major donwfall.. i really enjoyed racing and the company but atm its more bashing the game than anything elese  .... and atm it seems like its an never ending story.

i know that the devs all trying to do their job right but in these moments you can see clearly that igp is still in its early days....

now why should we all be patient?
because we all screamed for improvements!
i'll use the time to do anything else but thinking if i should leave (even if i can understand those who do leave) and enjoy my day ...

BUT a little something for the devs: talk more with your people! taking the service down yesterday was the best thing you did BUT you should have keept it shut off ... now theres a miserable situation that some users can play and have  everything put back to normal and others don't ... come on! i know you can do it!

Totally agree. It is after all only a game (although one that many of us pay for, myself included). They will fix it and I am sure there will be some sort of compensation offered.

We're almost there, FYI. I've been writing a script all day to reschedule all of the races properly and re-run any races that have been requested to be re-run.

I'm expecting to run this in a couple of hours, at which point everything should be back to normal. Need to run some final checks first.

Transparency and communication, Jack.

These are the main "concepts" that are thrown in the posts here when a problem arises. I mean, the lack of those things, to be more specific.

would you rather the devs spent time replying to every liitle thing or hitting the problems with 100% focus on fixing the problem? Have you ever been in crisis mode before? Their first thought is probably not "let me write up a detailed explaination for everyone to read and then spend my time on the forum answering everyone's questions". It is more likely " what the hell went wrong? Oh that?! we can fix that in a few hours"... and then 12 hours later it is not fixed. They are stressed and tiring and not thinking clearly. The statement they were up to 4AM shows that. Honestly the communication they have presented is clear... it is that some people here are WAY too worked up over their GAME not running and they are not reading or comprehending.

Look, things will get fixed and the game will go on. Just give them some TIME to find the problem, fix it, and make the game better.

Hey Greg, here is the thing: we are giving time. Like the past events like these, we waited for solutions as we always did. You are either a new user to this game or a fake account, so maybe you don't know the history behind all our complaints.

It reached a point were it became really annoying.

Yes, I have been in crisis mode before. I worked in IT before as well, and one of the first things I did was make sure that some kind of information about the issue being looked at. No time frame to the solution, no detailed information in these first moments. Just this bit of info to the COSTUMERS from the start that indeed the whole thing encountered a huge problem and it was being looked at.

As Clinton have said: "The customers don't want to hear (or even care) about if you worked 48 hours straight and then took 4 hours off to nap when there is a problem.  Customers don't really care what happened to cause the problem or what will need to be done to fix the problem.  All customers care about is why isn't it fixed yet, why is it taking so long, etc?  They don't really want to hear the answers, they just want to see results."

For me, even the result is a message saying "Guys, the problem is really serious. Bear with us, we are doing everything we can to bring everything back to normal. Soon we will give detailed information about what happened. Keep following us on the main page or on twitter for updates." and the game being blocked for login for the time being as it was yesterday would work. But in reality we could login again and some people got their leagues running and others don't, races got delayed, etc. That should have been avoided at all costs and that's where we got all the discussions we are having now.

That's good news Jack.

I am really dismayed with all the negative comments being thrown at you but on the good side it is actually only from a few very vocal individuals.
I think most of the players are willing you to do well.  It has been a tough few days but I think you will have learned a lot from the experience and this can only be a good thing.  I am hoping that there are more people coming on board with the PR side of things.  It doesn't matter how often or how much you tell people they will always want more so I don't see you did much wrong.

To all you folks who are complaining, I think that a few days problems is not a huge deal.  If you buy an appliance and it developes a fault, then you have to wait for an engineer to fix it - this can be more than a couple of days.  Please try to keep things in perspective.  The improvements will be well worth the hassle.

Im hoping they do well Jake, however when you do have issues a good company will always update you and let you know whats going as much as they can. I dont like saying this but i work in customer services and I have to update my clients as much and through as many means as possible no matter if its a small or big detail. I belive they did as much as they could with the size of the team, but it could be majorly improved. Then you wont get extra work like closing loads of thread with the same topic 'my race is still on live etc....' Jake your comparing apples and oranges there an engineer needs to come to site etc and other issues.

@ Sheldon: new yes; fake no.

As for your "crisis" mode... you have never been in one. Let me explain: We were working on a bridge when one of the guys was on a beam slipped off and fell 20'. Our first thought wasn't "let's call the boss and let him know what happened". It was get to him, call 911, get him stabilized and get a path cleared for an ambulance, then it was time to make the other calls.

For something less grim... think of a pipe busting in your house/apartment/flat... you are not going to think "Do I post this on FB or twitter first?" No you are going to try and stop the water. If you can't, then the next step is a plumber. Then once things are calmed down do you start to focus on the rest of the world around you.
