Okay, now I can buy almost everything in this game. Can you just add a "buy victory" button?

They ruined the game...

If you can pay to get xp faster than others, you will win races...
90% players will quit the game. No one want to be overtaken by the guy who payed.

Yep. I like the new features, but... Why do i need to buy all this for some unimaginable amount of tokens?

I don't mind in-game purchases. But let it remain cosmetics or minor boosts. Not buying a level or the best pilots.

If you have sponsors for 3 tokens a race, you can get things fast enough usually. No need for buying tokens if you can give it some patience. Just don't try to spend tokens on every minor improvement.

30T pilots = 70 tokens, Legendary ability = 200 tokens. It takes 90 races for me to buy a pilot. This is more than 3 months. In my league, teams have 2 cars each. Accordingly, I need six months to put two top pilots in the cars. Well, or pay, and get all the same instantly.

A driver ages one year every 20 races. Roughly they will try to retire around 42 years old. So if you get them at 17 years old, they can do 500 races.

That's 1500 tokens you can gain over that time period which is more than enough to get new drivers ready and save a ton of tokens on the way.

Things like legendary ability likely aren't the thing that makes someone win guaranteed. Having a skill and level and being able to use it properly are two whole different things.

Yeah this is kind of a piss take. I understand money needs to be made for the servers etc. but having just introduced a load of new stuff that costs an enormous amount of tokens, it is complete overkill to make something that has always been free cost tokens now. Really disappointed to be honest, the rest of the update is great but this is a dampener.

Yes, but you don't take into account that tokens are needed to buy engines and money to upgrade the headquarters. If you just save them, there is no question of any fight for the championship. While I'm hoarding tokens, another player can just buy them and pump everything: pilots, headquarters, engine. This is pay to win.

I completely agree with you, but they've chosen to make it like that. It's the direction they want to take and I think we must accept that, regardless of whether we like it or not.

I, like many, chose this game for its honesty: everyone is equal. No one can get faster with a click. There is no randomness - only a competent strategy and tactics affect the result. Today we got another manager-game where you can become the best thanks to your wallet.

Choosing your sponsors correctly will also get you enough money but yes, if you spend tokens you can finish your headquarters faster.

But to be honest, that five design points you might miss out on while waiting on the design headquarter won't make the difference.

If someone is willing to buy a whole new driver pair and new staff and spending tokens on getting drivers trained, I might be worried. Not so much about losing out but about what insane lengths someone would go to, to accomplish that. I doubt many serious long term players would consider to do so.

I for one just upgraded my headquarters to lvl21 as I have a ton of tokens saved up. And now will just wait patiently for the headquarters to produce some nice drivers over time. But those probably will take a good while to train so I'll have fun with that. Not planning to spend any money.

They have basically decided to make money off the level 20s that have stuck with the game for years instead of concentrating on bringing new players in. Increasing to level 30 is pointless when the new level 30 is the same as the current 20, the only reason is to get people to pay for new drivers and upgrades etc until they reach 30. Who knows they could then increase it to 40 etc.

It's been a long time since I've supported the game by purchasing tokens. I hope those that are able, will join me in spending a little to support the future of the game. Do or do not there is no try ~ Yoda

I am really troubled by this...
On the one hand, they claim to want to develop igp into an esport, but on the other hand they introduce such a cheap moneymaking scheme.

What does a proper esport require? First and foremost, equal machinery for everyone. Just look at the likes of fortnite, rocket league and LoL. They all allow players access to the full extent of the game while monetizing cosmetics. And they have all shown that this business model works.
Just recently, the igp community created an insanely well-made livery editor. Why not e.g. Include this and monetize the liveries? Instead, the editor was banned.

And now, they opted for monetizing core gameplay, which, as every game designer will tell you, is absolute garbage for competitiveness... This is a sad day imho.

Looking at the direction in which the game is "developing", I don't think the devs deserve support.

So as the results of the update I'm the only lvl 20 to fight for the championship in my league. My drivers are downgraded to 4 stars including my 3 time champion. None of my drivers has special ability and the favorite track is total nonsense.
Don't know what to say now...

Paying tokens for changing your team name, colour, team emblem? Smh, you've got to be kidding lmao.

We didn't realise how significant this was to people or how it was used in role-playing leagues etc. So after a discussion with our testers I have immediately removed the cost for changing the colour or the team emblem. I now have a better understanding of the concerns there, e.g. it's often necessary to change colour if someone joins the league, not because you necessarily want to.

The cost remains for the name changes because our other motivation there was to stop people changing the team name frequently, to make it more of a considered decision. It isn't a feature which will generate meaningful revenue.

There are plenty of other areas for that in this update, but each has been built with the intention that they don't unbalance the core gameplay substantially, and they are not required to progress through the game. Becoming an engine manufacturer is entirely optional. If you don't want to be one, you can simply use someone else's engines and pay cash. No tokens required, and you get exactly the same engine as a customer of the manufacturer.

Special abilities were tested against regular drivers such that the advantages do not place them without of reach of those without, for example. Balancing will likely continue in the weeks ahead, because nothing can prepare you for a live rollout and the amount of feedback you get on this scale.

In the meantime I'm working through all issues with the update, and there are a bunch, but I'm aware of most of them now. Things should be settled by tomorrow, we're getting through them quickly.

I thought a random common special ability would be assigned as standard to all Drivers

No you have to do it manually and it is quite expensive

That would be your choice.  The first option is 100 tokens.  For me I won’t be bothering with any of the token abilities until I see proven value in doing so and was just pointing out to Nigel that you have to choose a special ability rather than being given one.
