Jack in the live race can we add more stops?
This glued to a 3 stop race in the strategy has put a spanner in the works I want to start & finish on supers use all the compounds 2 sets of supers, softs & meds and 1 set of hards in the race :|

The tyres work very differently in the new game. Super softs are not the tyre to use in the race any more, but they are good for qualifying. Mediums and Hards even are capable of winning races, so be willing to experiment with tyre strategy.

So, I don't think you'd want to do more than 3 stops, if you want to be competitive. However, it works like the current game if you don't make it to the finish, it will repeat your final stop. You'll also be able to adjust it in real-time in the live race.

All be it hards and meds maybe faster than here but the practice runs showed me hards and meds are within 0.300seconds of each other and hards are 1.200seconds slower than supers.

Here is what I want to do
5laps super
8laps soft
10laps med
12laps hard
10laps med
8laps soft
5laps super
total 58laps 6stop race

Super Soft tyres give out pretty fast in the new iGP.

The "cliff" on grip towards the end of tyre life is very steep now. I don't think even 5 laps on SS is safe.

5laps should be very safe if the tyres are anything like my thinking

ss
50% life =soft speed
40% life =med speed
30% life =hard speed
20% life =inter speed cliff
10% life =wet speed basically dead lol

Yes, these do not exist anymore in the new iGP. Managing "staff" is gone now.

In my opinion, it was a hassle.

For me, the reason iGP is unique is because it allows me to mess around with the "behind the scenes" of a F1 team. It's what separated it for me from all of the other managers out there. There are plenty of options both on mobile and online that allow you to do strategy and race management, but very rarely do you get such in-depth development and part management with the other sims. It may have been a hassle for some, but the more behind the scenes parts of iGP were what made people like me choose iGP over other sims. It's more of a Race Team sim than a race day sim.

I'm with Herman on this one, heart sunk when I saw how stripped this has now become.

We listen to all of the feedback we get, and that's a large part of why things are changing. Why did most people stop playing the old iGP? The number one reason was "I don't have time any more", or "I can't make it to my PC for the races". We're addressing that first, because we want to make sure people can play on the move, but that does mean streamlining a lot of the old GUI elements.

Spinners for assigning designers and repairing cars and whatnot would really be a bit of a pain on a tablet or phone, especially for people on the move. We're not forgetting our roots though, and the depth is still there. You will find lots of depth in new places too like the levelling up of boost and DRS. Upgrades also go all the way to level 20, rather than tapering off at level 10, increasing the lifetime of the game. The live races are more detailed than ever before, with new timing screens.

We have lots of ideas in the pipeline to add more behind the scenes, and many ideas to improve the race experience. There were fundamental issues with the old iGP though, and it was never going to move forward if they weren't adressed. Multi-platform support and not being restricted to the browser for one.

One step at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say. :) It's a totally new game, and this is not the end, it's the start.

Honestly streamlining for those away from computer could have been as easy as updating the UI to work on mobile along with the races - then setups can be done in no time while on the road. I appreciate this has been done but removing so many of the setup options was unecessary.

I can't see myself renewing my subscription for iGP, especially not with this new pay to win model, but in the time it has left the game can improve enough for me to change my mind.

How will next season car development be handled?

Also, my other gripe with the new iGP is the car setup system. Are there plans to make it more in-depth/harder? As things stand, there's a Wing option with 1-20. Then there are the suspension and gear ratio tabs, which have 3 options each. For Australia, I was able to find the perfect setup for the car on the 2nd practice run. Finding the right setup for the old iGP was much more challenging and therefore more satisfying and rewarding.

There is no in app messages like biding on staff it doesn't let you know that you have been out bid you have to sit and watch it even if it doesn't end for 2hours??

The game is definitely not pay to win.

In closed beta testing, some of the testers had lots of tokens, more than is possible even with several years of gameplay in the new iGP. And we were blowing through 500+ tokens just to upgrade the facilities and DRS/KERS research right away as soon as our level caps increased by one. The game at lower levels might initially be bought, however you need more tokens to quickly upgrade the facilities as you level up.

Again with the "challenging" thing?

There's nothing "challenging" about finding the right setup, either. Once you have an experienced driver its the same set up in the dry all the time. The only time an experienced manager faces a challenge with the setup is when it rains at tracks they have never raced in the rain before.

I can see where you are coming from, considering you're new to the game. But when you get more experience you will see the flaws in the old version. Hell, you probably won't see the light of day with the flaws in the old version, seeing that the new iGP is very much a month or two away from release.

I don't see the point in buying tokens in open beta sure it will be deleted once it moves here so you would kind of be wasting your money buying them they will not be carried forward any that you have not used :D

I'm happy to do without drs and kers for the whole of the rookie season. Only thing I levelled up was the design, the simulator will be finished in 2days then I can start on research department to see what it has to offer.

That's something you should submit a bug report on and start it with "Improvement: "

Can't buy tokens in open beta atm, as it's not enabled. Only way to earn tokens is via the title/primary sponsor

Actually, everyone has KERS and DRS from the beginning of the new game. It only increases in power as you level them up with the research facility.

It's not possible to buy tokens in open beta. The screen is just there as a placeholder. In fact, I should probably add a notification to that...

Sure, I will move them back.

Since nobody has tested a race yet (which is why I think much of the feedback is very premature), it's worth mentioning... no more Java! A huge amount of work has gone in to rebuilding the game with totally new technologies. It's also fully translatable now, and we'll be able to release international versions of iGP.

As well as the cross-platform support, these were all major reasons for the rewrite. Many months of work went in to just getting those foundations in place. That's why I've kept re-emphasising that this is a new beginning. The groundwork is laid for a cross-platform, multi-lingual, plugin-free game.

Thanks.

Man, once the new iGP is live, I can finally uninstall Java. It'll feel amazing.
