The
JNS
Guys tbh now,
Before the update the game was nearly only about skill because everyone was lvl20.
Now we got 10 more levels and yes until everyone will reach lvl30, the guys who are investing money are just a bit quicker at lvl30. But after everyone is on lvl30 the game is as competitive as before. So every advantage (by spending money) is temporary.
Also think about, the guys who are investing money, will keep the game running. Or do anyone think the server, the software and so on is payed with love and air?
My advice is, if you have a p2w manager in your league, let him do, you know he is temporary faster and the 2nd place is the 1st „normal“ place. Also keep in mind the p2w manager will carry all other because all other can leveling faster.
Looking forward to the time when everyone is lvl30 ?
we already talked about this in person yesterday, but Ill add my opinion here too to keep the discussion going.
While I understand that igp needs to generate revenue in order to remain active, I don't agree with the way this is done. I'd gladly pay money for a product that is polished and working. I have bought tokens in the past, because the game was fun.
However, countless bugs have appeared that are yet to be adressed.
Instead of fixing these bugs, thereby making the product good again, the devs have decided to implement even more (again unfinished) systems, all of which require token investiments in large amounts.
I totally understand that igp is in a difficult spot. To fix the product you need devs, to get devs you need money.
But as you mention, what made this game for many was the competitive aspect. Everyone had equal machinery and races were decided based on strategic ingenuity as well as research prowess and race management (and of course bugs, but hey, the community coped with that...).
Now, however, this equal machinery is gone for at least several months. With this, a large, very passionate part of the community loses their main drive.
What really troubles me here is the way the devs handle the community. Who hosts large tournaments? The community. Who provides in depth feedback and support? Again, the community. Who has created so many great tools that help new players get into the game and really revolutionize strategy making? Again, the community.
Imho it's sad that igp does not value this great community nearly as much as they deserve. Instead we are thanked for years of coping with bugs by receiving these money-oriented systems and yet again it's up to the community to implement rules within leagues in order to keep the competition somewhat level.
This really shows how little the devs really understand their product and where value is generated. It stems from the great and engaged community and not from short term profits generated by some hastily implemented systems. In the long run, having a thriving community is what really matters to investors.
Don't get me wrong. I am passionate about this game and want it to succeed, but I don't want to be treated like this.
+1 I saw all of this coming. I literally stopped playing this game just before the update. Only manage a league now in support of the IGP friends I've made.
I've tried to express where the focus should be on with this game, but instead, we got these updates.
I don't know if it's greed or arrogance, or both, but the game's direction is no longer about the community. I'm sure in the beginning, this game was a project of passion where updates and direction were motivated by the community. That's lost.
There are some fundamental flaws and various areas of this game that needs priority (that are also basic and require far less resources than adding new engine management) that, in the long run, would be more profitable than managers spending 100 tokens to experience bugs. ?
I still manage a league but really have no interest in racing until focus and attention align with the needs of the community and less about paying for stuff like team/color name change, albeit reverted now.
